Vision

I am asking you, the voters of District 2, to consider our shared hopes and dreams for the future of Clatsop County.  Like you, I treasure our cultural heritage, our Columbia River, forests, beaches, and the families and institutions working to build a sustainable community. I promise responsible and thoughtful stewardship of these treasures.

As commissioner I plan to focus on the following:

  • Growth and development on Clatsop Plains
  • Affordable housing
  • Partnerships to leverage scarce resources
  • Disaster planning,
  • Transportation,
  • Community health
  • Assisting Special Districts including  diking districts
  • Restoring rail service to the County

And on all issues I will be a voice for consensus building on the Commission and in the community.  I’ve worked hard all my life and I will work hard for you.

I am chair of the Skipanon Watershed Council, North Coast Watershed Association and Warrenton Trails Association.   A common theme of my leadership has been partnering with federal, state, county and local governments to leverage scarce funds for maximum effect.

As your Commissioner I will continue to seek strategic partnerships to multiply County resources for significant impact in areas like job creation and affordable housing.

You can count on me to respect the citizens, staff and process of government by building trust, cooperation and dealing in an honest and open way.  I look forward to an inclusive and positive campaign that addresses the concerns, issues and opportunities of significance to you.  I ask for your vote on May 20th so we may begin to realize these shared hopes and dreams.
